Promoting Hair Growth with a Personalized Vitamin Selection

Hair growth would not be stimulated without providing your body with its natural building blocks. For this we turn to biotin, a nutrient that plays an essential role in nail and hair growth, in the latter case, specifically the repair and regrowth of hair follicles. Biotin dosing varies greatly, but most dermatologists who specialize in hair loss believe a dose of 2,500 mcg daily is appropriate. It of course takes time to see the effects (you should be used to hearing that by now).

With time and the consistent use of vitamins, hair loss related to deficiencies slowly improves. At Vous Vitamin®, we have found that thinning hair is one of the most common complaints expressed by our customers on our online questionnaire. Our multivitamins (with a blend of the aforementioned vitamins) that address this issue are some of our top sellers. We have found that if people are patient and diligent about taking their vitamins, they find their hair returns to a better state. Many men say that even though their male pattern of balding does not resolve, the thickness and growth of their existing hair improves with vitamin repletion and they feel that it enhances their feeling of a fuller head of hair. The distressing issue of hair loss never has a quick and easy fix. However, with some exploration and diligence there are many ways to address it. We find vitamins are often a key part of the solution.

There are numerous personalized vitamin brands, so it is important to do your homework. Some brands will ask for biological or genetic tests, but we have not found that these tests provide value to the consumer that is consummate with the cost and privacy concerns. Look for a brand that has been in the market for some time, perhaps 5 years or greater of serving consumers. Also, be sure to read reviews to see what others are saying about the brand. Are there certain themes around quality and ease of adherence that emerge from the reviews? Determine if the brand has physicians involved in their work and to what extent those physicians participate in the company. Are they part of the management team and active in day-to-day decision making, or part of a medical advisory board that meets once or twice a year to provide high-level perspective? It is important to know if the company is able to provide high quality education beyond their products. Are you getting a packet of pills that will remain a mystery to you, or do they deliver ongoing education about their products. Some of the companies have stark differences in pill count and cost. Are you getting 10+ pills in a daily serving pouch that costs $100+ per month, or are you getting an all-in-one customized vitamins that costs $30/month? Those are two very different models! Determine if you can stick with your personalized vitamin because that is the key to achieving your goals around hair growth and other functional improvements.
